It is the duty of the media to act as a watchdog of the society. In the developing nations, especially, the media must be responsible and document reality as it is, in its original form. Most often, in countries like India, where the mass media is very powerful, media organizations choose to sensationalize news and blow news out of proportion. But in the recent times the media and press have understood their responsibility and know that they ought to bridge the gap between the common man and the rest of the world.
